I have been making lampwork beads for more than 6 years and have found glass one of the most amazing materials I have ever worked with. Its stability, durability and true, rich, permanent colors are what have most drawn me to this medium.

I make these beads using the ancient process of lampwork. This process has evolved over the ages but now involves heating colored glass rods over a propane/oxygen torch until the glass is molten. This molten glass is then wrapped around a steel mandrel and various techniques are employed to manipulate and decorate the bead surface.

While some lampworkers use molds to shape their beads, I do not, preferring instead that the bead form its own shape thus ensuring each bead is unique. The beads are then annealed in a kiln to encourage stability and durability.

I use my beads as well as sterling silver chain and findings, swarovski crystal, seed beads and freshwater pearls to create one of a kind jewelry of original design.

I hope you enjoy my work as much
as I have enjoyed creating it.
